Masters Trained Counseling Intern
Shae Waller, Counseling Intern
I believe that every individual has the potential for growth and healing, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. My approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude, which allows my clients to feel truly heard and understood. I recognize the profound impact of the therapeutic relationship in facilitating positive change, and I am honored to accompany my clients on their journeys toward healing and self-discovery.
To support this process, I incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my practice. CBT helps clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, empowering them to develop healthier perspectives and coping strategies. Meanwhile, DBT provides valuable skills for emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness, particularly for those navigating intense emotions or challenging relationships. Together, these techniques foster resilience and promote mental well-being.
I am currently pursuing certification as a First Responder Counselor, focusing on providing essential support to individuals in high-stress environments. Additionally, I am working towards certification in Complex PTSD and EMDR basic training to offer comprehensive, trauma-informed care. My passion lies in fostering resilience and supporting mental well-being for all.
As I continue my training and education in the field of counseling, I remain dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care to my clients. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you on your journey toward healing and growth.
